Access Control Door Readers are devices that are used to control entry using credentials. These credentials contain a unique ID number that provides identification.
The slave door readers connect to an intelligent controller such as the Hartmann controller. The readers support Radio Frequency ID (RFID) credentials that the person carries or mobile credentials provided by the person’s smartphone.
There are RFID credentials that use 125KHz or 13.56MHz Mifare Smartcard format. The mobile credentials use Bluetooth connections to your smartphone.
The 125KHz readers support either proprietary format 125KHz Prox credentials (that costs less) or an HID Prox card format. The HID format is branded by HID and costs more. The HID type readers are usually used when the organization already has HID type credentials. These readers can be used in many access control systems that support Wiegand type door readers. They are also available in access control kits that include the controller.

RF100P (M)
Simple Proximity RFID Readers
These economical proximity RFID readers connect to an access controller such as the Hartmann controller, using standard Wiegand connections. They can be used indoors or outdoors. There is a choice of credentials that can be used

There is a choice of type of credential. The credential is either 125KHz proprietary or 13.56 MHz Smart card Mifare type.
Two sizes and two types of credentials are available –

- RF123P – Wall type single-gang 125 kHz proprietary proximity credentials

These proximity RFID readers support the HID type credentials and connect to an access controller such as the Hartmann controller, using standard Wiegand connections. They can be used indoors or outdoors. There is a choice of sizes and choice of the type of credential.
The credential can be either 125KHz proprietary or 13.56 MHz Smart card Mifare type.

Mobile Credential Options
The “ET” series of door readers uses virtual credentials. The credentials are stored in the smartphone app.
The Wavelynx Wallet solution provides a modern and convenient access experience for end-users across Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet. Reader-Controllers
The readers don’t need a separate controller. Everything is built in.
The reader-controller is an all-in-one solution that includes a controller inside the reader. These Schlage RC reader controllers connect directly to existing IT networks, reducing installation time and eliminating the need to run separate power to the door. The reader-controller concept was developed by Isonas (who is now part of Schlage).

IP Access Control Systems
Intelligent IP door reader systems include built-in controllers or have the controller at the door with the door reader.
- The Isonas reader/controller includes the intelligence in the reader.
- The Hartmann enterprise access control system includes a slave reader and an IP controller at the door.
- The Biometric IP door reader/controllers provide biometric identification. By identifying your face or reading your fingerprint they provide increased security.
