AI-Enhanced Camera Systems Overview
Artificial Intelligence (AI) enhances IP Camera Systems to improve safety and security. AI systems are defined as those that can learn from experience. AI-Enhanced IP Cameras
The latest IP cameras include Artificial Narrow Intelligence. Intelligent IP cameras can detect anomalies, suspicious activities, or objects of interest, enhancing security and enabling faster response to potential threats. By sending alerts to security personnel, it helps stop violent events before they happen.
Smart or Intelligent Cameras have built-in software that provides functions that detect certain threat conditions. The camera is intelligent enough to determine if the object is a person, vehicle, or animal. Once the item is analyzed, it can define various attributes of the object. These attributes can then be sent to video management software (VMS). This metadata can be used to enhance the surveillance and safety provided by the IP camera system.
The cameras include the following Video Analytics capability:
- Object detection and classification(Person, Face, Vehicle, License Plate)
- Gunshot and scream detection
- Attribute classification, “BestShot,” for selecting the video for review

AI Software for IP Cameras
AI video software that runs on a PC or is added to an IP Camera, provides more powerful functions. AI software enhances the IP surveillance system and works with the video recording system.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) enhances IP Camera Systems by improving safety and security. These AI systems are designed to learn from experience and automatically detect and prevent physical crises, providing early alarms to mitigate threats effectively. The following AI software can be added to most IP camera systems:
Scy-AI Software Provides Threat Protection
Multi-behavior protection software notifies security automatically when a threat is detected.
Scy-AI software detects various objects and behaviors, including:
- Guns
- Intrusions
- Vehicle counting
- Parking area monitoring
- Person search and recognition
- Human behavior anomalies.
Scy-AI software is enhanced with Artificial Intelligence to analyze data coming from stationary and portable cameras. It then processes the acquired data to generate meaningful information about the activity contained in the video stream. Matching the data results through the decision-making algorithm, Acy-AI identifies the suspect through facial recognition and potential threats posed by a suspect’s actions or vehicle in the video feed. Finally, Acy-AI analyzes the collected data and distributes alerts to law enforcement response units through the web and mobile channels with information about the threat, location, and the suspect’s identity.

EV-Edge for Perimeter and and Situational Awareness
EV-Edge provides enhanced perimeter and situational awareness, providing improved safety and security.
The software helps protect the perimeter and provide situational awareness. The EV-Edge AI-Enhancement significantly improves situational awareness for complex or busy scenes by enhancing the standard IP camera’s capabilities, allowing tracking of multiple targets or events by seeing through the noise.
EV-Edge saves money because it requires fewer cameras to cover significantly more physical areas. For example, the panoramic camera provides a wide field of view, but the further away the objects are, the less detail we can see. It means we could miss small things that are far away. By using AI-Enhancement, we can see two times as far away, increasing the range of the standard panoramic camera.
The long-range perimeter detection is enhanced by AI’s ability to transfer the location of a target to a PTZ camera that can zoom and track objects, making it easy to identify the target. Multiple Pan, Tilt, and Zoom (PTZ) cameras can track multiple targets, reducing the need for many cameras.
