Ocularis LS Video Management Software Has Been Replaced
Ocularis LS has been replaced by Ocularis Ultimate
Ocularis LS was designed for large IT-centric organizations with extended command and control needs. It provided centralized recording server management and multicasting capabilities, as well as compatibility with the VideoWall and OpenSight add-ons, which allow for collaborative control of VideoWalls at multiple command and control centers, and incorporating camera streams from other Ocularis installations. Take a look at the latest version of Ocularis. For more about Ocularis, look at the Ocularis Overview.
This VMS can be integrated with IP door access control systems.

Features of Ocularis LS Video Recording and Management Software
Ocularis LS provides some excellent features not available from other video management software.
Central management of the recording server allows you to manage all your cameras, no matter where they are located, on one management screen.
Edge Recording Support: If your IP cameras support local video recording (using SD card), you can utilize this edge storage capability. If for any reason the IP camera can’t communicate to the video recording server, the camera can record the video to the SD card memory in the camera. Once the connection is re-established the software will automatically recover the missed video.
Multicasting: In some cases, it is better to broadcast video to many client displays. LS adds the capability to broadcast video simultaneously to a large number of video display stations.
The following chart provides a summary of the features and functions provided by Ocularis LS.

Hardware Required for Video Recording Software
ES requires special computer systems that provide redundant capability. The computer required depends on the number of cameras, resolution of the cameras, frame rate, type of compression, and the length of time you want to store the video.
As you can see it can get complicated so it’s best to contact us for assistance. Just to provide some idea of the computer resources needed, here is an example:
In most cases, you can use a Windows computer with
CPU: Intel® Core™ i6 or better (if running on a workstation) or Intel® Xeon®, (Dual Core or better recommended) and 8 GB of RAM.
Hard Drives: The size of the hard drives will depend on many factors including the length of time you want to hold the recorded video.
You will require more computer power when running ES software version.
To determine your computer requirements please contact us, so we can review all the variables that determine the capacity.

How to select the right IP Software
Why do I need software with my IP camera? All I need is a web browser to view IP network cameras on my PC. I can even control a pan, tilt, and zoom (PTZ) camera. Well yes, but surveillance usually requires more than just real-time viewing, you also need to store the video, view multiple cameras, be notified about alarms, etc. This article helps you understand the various NVR software products available.
