SmartStor provided high-performance, seamless access to both large and small collections of CDs.  Solutions were available for Windows NT/2000,  Novell, UNIX environments. The software provided native file access to all SCSI CD-ROM readers, towers, mini-changers, and many popular jukeboxes. Sophisticated, flexible caching accelerated access to all leading CD storage devices. The software featured the ability to mirror CD titles to hard disk, providing very fast performance.

SmartStor Archive was a complete read/write archival storage solution for Windows NT and NetWare. The entire configuration could be viewed as a single drive letter, allowing Windows, UNIX, and Macintosh clients to archive and retrieve data from the same network location.

SmartStor Archive also supported multiple industry standard file formats (ISO9660, Rockridge, Apple HFS, and UDF) for universal accessibility.  In addition to flexible file system options, mixed media support (CD-R, CD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM), sophisticated caching schemes, and an easy-to-use GUI (graphical user interface), SmartStor Archive offers complete UDF support for v. 1.02, 1.5, and 2.0, providing complete read/write support and portability.  SmartStor Archive was an ideal solution for document imaging, medical imaging, broadcast archiving, digital asset management, and other data-intensive applications.  Smart Storage also offered the SmartStor Archive API toolkit for integration with parent applications.
