The biometric door reader-controllers have been upgraded to provide improved performance. We listed the upgrade suggestions for each type of biometric door reader.
Biometric access control readers detect a person’s unique physiological characteristics.
Biometric readers attach to the network or to a access controller and provide increased security. There are fingerprint IP door readers, finger vein IP door readers, facial recognition readers and multi-biometric readers that can read a number of different physiologic characteristics.
Multimodal biometric readers increase reliability, because if one metric doesn’t work then another will. The readers on this page have been replaced by new professional readers with much better reliability.
Multimode readers provide more than one access key to control the door. This includes RFID proximity credentials, pin numbers, and biometrics. What is the best type of reader for your application? Fingerprint and Biometric Reader Upgrade Path
These Fingerprint readers have been discontinued and replaced by the pro-series fingerprint readers. The new readers provide improved reliability.
Fingerprint readers detect the pattern of your fingerprint. The following readers also include RFID credential readers. Two of the models also include a keypad for entering a pin code.

Indoor Fingerprint Reader
TVIP18ID Discontinued – Replaced by TVIP3F-Pro
Reads fingerprints, RFID proximity credentials, and pin numbers. The reader Includes LCD display and keypad.
IP fingerprint reader that’s reliable, durable and highly accurate. This fingerprint sensor provides less than 1.5-second user recognition.
The fingerprint reader works even if the network is down. Complete setup and programming can be done via keypads and embedded firmware.
The graphical user interface on a 3.5 inch TFT display provides a rich user experience. Audio-Visual Indication for acceptance and rejection of valid/invalid fingerprints.
Relay outputs for electric lock and alarm. Inputs for door status sensor and exit switch. Supports multiple time zones and personnel groups for programming valid entry zones. The alarm will be triggered when the tamper switch is activated. Wiegand output for connecting to an access control panel and an Ethernet port for fast and reliable communication with the computer.
Optional RFID Mifare (smart card), HID formats.

Fingerprint, and RFID credential reader for outdoor use in wide temperature ranges.
Note that this IP reader doesn’t include a keypad so you require a separate enrollment reader that connects to the Windows computer.
Provides audio-visual indication for acceptance and rejection of valid/invalid fingerprints. Includes Relay Outputs for electric lock and alarm, and Inputs for door status sensor and exit switch.
This outdoor fingerprint reader supports multiple time zones and personnel groups for programming valid entry zones.
IP65 rated waterproof enclosure permits this reader to be used for outdoor applications.

The special enclosure permits this reader to be used for outdoor applications. The IP reader is IP65 rated, waterproof and operates in cold temperatures.

Facial Recognition System
TVIPCAM300 Discontinued – Long Range Facial Recognition
This IP door facial recognition reader uses a special facial recognition algorithm, It can identify users from a database of 400 faces in less than one second.
Users can be identified from a distance of 12.5 feet with a built-in IR light source.
The cam300 combines IP video with door access control. It includes relay I/O connect, door sensor, electric lock, and REX hardware.

Multimodal Biometric IP Reader
Multimode biometric readers include at least two physiological characteristics to increase reliability. This includes a unit that provides fingerprint and vein, another that includes facial recognition and fingerprint, and a third that includes facial recognition and body motion.
TVIP350ID – Fingerprint and Vein Reader
Fingerprint reader, and Vein Reader combination, as well as RFID credential reader and pin number. Finger vein readers are one of the most reliable readers since they read the unique vein pattern under the skin.
This is a multi-biometric reader that’s capable of capturing and processing finger vein and fingerprint biometric data at the same time.
The Finger vein reader captures an image of the vein patterns which exist beneath the surface of the finger. In this case, the vascular pattern is detected using a near-infrared LED. The system detects the hemoglobin in the bloodstream, providing a distinct pattern.

FSTBM-01 – Facial Recognition and Motion Analytics has been Discontinued
Unfortunately, FST corporation is no longer in business. Take a look at the systems that identify a face in a crowd.
The FST biometric door access control system increased identification accuracy by adding full-body motion analytics to facial recognition. It could quickly identify authorized people as they approach the door. It gradually learned more about the person’s body motion becoming more accurate as time goes on.

TVIP-Access Control Software Discontinued
TVIP-Access is a Windows administration and control software that comes with the readers. The software manages all the standard Biometric IP readers (except the FSTBM-AC reader). It does not support the Pro-series biometric readers. For pro-reader support see TVIPTIRSoft software.
TVIP-Access is designed to manage all TVIP Access control IP readers, except the Pro panels.
The software can manage access control as well as generate reports such as attendance reports.
This is very easy to use software with a simple interface that makes it very easy to enroll new users, monitor door activity, and remotely control doors.
