Sony PTZ IP Cameras – Quick Look at Features
These new PTZ cameras from Sony feature megapixel resolution, wide dynamic range (130 dB), and gyro-based image stabilizer. The cameras can use HPoE for power, have an SD card slot storage (SDHC), and 30X zoom lenses. You can select indoor or outdoor models with 1.3 Mpixel or 2.0 Mpixel resolution.. more …
ER and EP series:
The ER (Rapid Dome) and EP series PTZ cameras are older models. Both the ER and EP have similar performance, except the ER Series features a full 360-degree pan range, while the EP Series has a limited pan range of 340 degrees (and is more economical). Both require environmental enclosures to be used outdoors.
Older and Discontinued PTZ Cameras
There are a number of older models available. For example, the SNC-RH164, SNC-RH-124, SNC-RS86N, and SNC-RS46N are still available, but probably not the best choice for new applications.
Why Select Sony IP Dome Cameras?
Sony is known for performance. This means you will get better video with a higher likelihood you can identify a person’s face in a wide range of applications. These are top-quality IP cameras with excellent reliability. They come with a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty.
WDR allows you to operate in challenging lighting conditions. The latest video processing chip built into these 6th generation megapixel PTZ cameras provides 130 dB of wide dynamic range (WDR) that makes it ideal for applications where there is a very bright background scene that you would like to be able to see. The Sony cameras provide both WDR and low light level performance at the same time, while Axis requires that you choose between low light performance and WDR.
Gyro Based Image Stabilizer. Whenever you zoom in on objects that are far away (30X), you require camera stability. The image stabilizer makes sure you get a clear image even if the camera is mounted on a pole that’s buffeted by the wind.
