Axis IP Cameras

The IP cameras from Axis are well known in the industry. They provide a very wide selection of cameras and accessories that can be used in many applications.  They were the first IP camera manufacturer, but unfortunately, other manufacturers such as Hanwha provide more cost-effective solutions.  Before you select a camera make sure you know your objectives.  You should also take a look at our camera review to determine the best camera for your application.

You can select from economical or professional IP network-attached cameras. IP box cameras, dome cameras, and PTZ cameras are available from this manufacturer. Many of these IP cameras are powered using PoE making them easy to install.

The Axis IP box cameras provide great flexibility. They are excellent for special applications that require special lenses or enclosures. The cameras provide excellent low light sensitivity. They are available for indoor and outdoor applications. The outdoor models are available with environmental enclosures and most are powered using PoE. The M11 series and P13 series of cameras come with a lens, but it can be changed if required. In order to ensure you get the right lens, it’s best to discuss all available choices with us. Possibilities include variable lenses, megapixel lenses, IR-type lens, and auto-iris lenses. There are economical (M10 and M11-series) and professional (P-Series) models available.

There many different dome cameras available. You can select an economical model that is usually used indoors or more profession models that can be used in all environments. The professional cameras include remote zoom and focus lenses making the camera very easy to install. You can select standard dome cameras, those that provide vandal resistance, and others that are designed for outdoor use. Axis has some small mini-dome models that can be mounted to drop ceilings. These cameras are very unobtrusive and almost covert. Some of the models include wide dynamic range and very low light sensitivity, but you have to select one or the other. You can take a look at the models available, but don’t forget to ask for help with any of your applications. PTZ or Pan Tilt Zoom cameras have zoom lenses and allow viewing very large areas. Axis has an economical (P-Series) and high quality (Q-Series) available. They are available for indoor or outdoor applications. These IP PTZ cameras have some nice automated features that allow the camera to automatically zoom to a predetermined location whenever motion is detected. PTZ cameras can also be used to automatically tour or patrol an area. It is best to allow the video management software (VMS) to control this function. VMS such as Ocularis include patrol mode with intelligent motion detection that turns off the motion alarm when the camera is moving.
