New IP cameras included advanced intelligence that improved camera performance, enhanced object detection and notified the user about alarm conditions. Access control systems improved their software and provided cloud as well as on-site management software. IP intercoms enhanced the “if-then” selections that provided automatic responses to security situations.

An older woman went to a walk-in clinic where a young, new doctor saw her.

After about 3 minutes in the exam room, the doctor told her she was pregnant. She burst out the door, screaming as she ran down the hall.

An older doctor stopped her and asked her what the problem was.

After she told him what had happened, he sat her down in another exam room and marched back to the first doctor.

‘What is the matter with you? That lady is over 60 years old, has four grown children and several grandchildren! And you told her she was pregnant?! Are you insane?!’

IP Paging and Intercom Systems are Easy to Install

An IP paging system uses the Ethernet network to transfer the audio from a microphone to all the speakers. The digital system includes IP intercoms as well as IP paging. The IP speakers and intercoms use power over Ethernet (PoE), making them very easy to install. Since this is a network-attached paging system, it is very flexible, providing many more features than the older analog paging systems.

Nighttime is when we expect criminal activity, and of course, that’s the most challenging time for IP surveillance cameras. There are several ways of seeing in the dark, but the best way is to use an IP camera with enhanced low-light sensitivity.

The low-light capability of IP cameras has gotten much better over the last few years. We used to be happy with cameras that could see at 0.1 lux in color, but now we have IP cameras (like the PNO-A6081R) that have low-light sensitivity in color at 0.007 Lux. The camera can see at night when the stars are shining.
